Wrong Transformation of Past Tense Action Verbs

Today I would like to highlight on the typical mistakes that my students usually commit. The wrong transformation of the past tense action verbs. Students are aware that they only need to add -ed when they want to transform the action verb into past tense. For example : walk - walked

However they forget that action verbs are divided into regular verbs and irregular verbs. Regular verbs are verbs that you can simply put -ed at the end of the word to turn it into past tense verb, however the irregular verbs are verbs that you need to memorize! You cannot just simply put -ed to verbs in order to form the past tense action verbs. For instance : go - went

Below is an example of mistakes that some of my students did:

Exercise: Change the verbs into past tense, then rewrite the sentence.

1. I go to shopping mall.
I goed to shopping mall.

2. She put some spice into the meal.
She putted some spice into the meal.

3. They read a fairy tale book together.
They readed a fairy tale book together.

These careless mistakes might end up into losing marks especially in examinations. And if you put it in your conversation it would sound ridiculous!
